Apparently this fellow named Larry Temple thinks that some regular ol’ workaday dad from the suburbs, who plays catch with his kids and grows veggies in his backyard, is “radical”.
Or maybe he thinks that whole “all men created equal” stuff that our country is founded on is “radical”….
Or maybe he’s just confused. And unsure. And insecure.
What is clear, however, is that Larry hasn’t figured out that fighting for fairness and standing up for justice, equality and honest-to-goodness, pure-as-sunshine love is actually the right thing to do — hardly “radical.”
That said, I wonder if Larry goes to gay bars with Petey LaBarbera and Dave Smith to help with “research”.
Perhaps Larry would give folks the honor of explaining why guys such as himself so loathe people that are in love with each other that they’re willing to denounce and discriminate against them — and hypocritically call their anti-family stance “family values”.
Regardless, thanks for the compliment and the link, Larry.

I was against gay marriage until I learned that it was only for gays

Chris, when one is confused and does not understand one’s own straightliness, perhaps even questioning just how straight can straight be and whether or not “research” is necessary to first determine one or another’s straightitude, then one may tend to lash out against those perceived to remind one of one’s, shall we say, particular bent.
Still, plenty of (cough, David Vitter, cough, diapers, cough) self-proclaimed conservatives seem to be (cough, John McCain, cough, younger blondes, cough) for straight marriage until their little elephant gets a wandering eye (cough, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, please turn your head, cough again… wait, how’d they get listed in this straightish talk snark?).

Yes, but Vitter has been forgiven by God. And Larry Craig only pleaded guilty to put incident behind him. Foley couldn’t help how cute the young Pages were and John McCain is such a maverick I’m sure the younger blond was chasing him more than anything else.

So, bottom line (no pun intended), all those conservatives are a-ok cuz they’re … conservative. Glory be.

Yes! Anyone who didn’t vote for our Anointed Leader George Bush is pretty much screwed.

Dude, this Larry Temple guy is very wack, worried that I live in the same country as a man like this. Where do you find these nuts?

Mr. Temple apparently found me… Nothing wrong with a guy searching out another guy on the Internets, except when the first guy is virulently anti-American gays and he’s searching out a happily married guy who’s apparently much more secure in his manhood.
Besides Tim, if rational folks don’t point out the irrational behavior of these nattering nabobs of conservative negativity then they might actually get people elected to office and then these John Birch-types will really have a bully pulpit, eh.
The First Amendment is both a right and a responsibility. They have the right to spew their venom; we have the responsibility to highlight it and debunk it.
