How f’ing sick do you have to be to tie in Chicago’s recent rash of gun violence and murdered children to the Presidential campaign???
Congrats, Anne Leary and Gang… You’ve gleefully skipped right over trying to actually find a solution to the problem and instead dove headfirst right into that disgusting cesspool of partisan politicking; a sewage pond you’re now choosing to fill with the still fresh blood of those children whose souls you’re now abusing.
Ms. Leary is promoting yet another trite guilt-by-association smear — a low-budget YouTube ad, hoping to be picked up and endlessly replayed for free on the boob tube — from yet another con partisan who has no interest in actual, honest conservative principles but rather a near-prurient need to score evermore partisan chits. Ms. Leary finds herself applauding the news that ABC’s Jake Tapper will be promoting the video as well as the alphabet network apparently continues down its path of turning the news division into just another version of their soaps.
While Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain are actually trying to have an issues-based campaign debated on high standards, Ms. Leary and her con comrades would rather try to smear Obama with any shred of “violence” or “radicalism” by playing Six Degrees of Bullshit. (Then again, Ms. Leary, you’re admonishing your own nominee because he doesn’t see a place for the unprincipled uber-partisanship you espouse … just so we know where you’re coming from.)
Say, who’s behind this propaganda effort to try and overtly connect Obama to the concept of “violence” as a means to tarnish him through the use of the common propaganda technique of “transferance”?
None other than Floyd Brown, a low-brow GOP operative known for producing vitriolic guilt-by-association ads that do absolutely nothing to actually prevent the violent crimes he exploits for his partisan gain.
I don’t know of a word in the English language that accurately describe just how pathetic, amoral and debasing such partisans who would use the murders of children for purely partisan gain really are. But Ms. Leary, you’re right there with Mr. Floyd in whatever ring of hell that peccant place is.
Those kids are dead — and you’re using their murders to channel your hatred for Sen. Obama?
Again, a strong enough word does not exist, though loathsome comes close.
(PS: Contrary to popular belief, the death penalty has been proven time and again to not deter murder and other violent crimes as it is … so what on earth are Ms. Leary and Mr. Brown trying to accomplish?)
–
As an aside, Rep. John Fritchey makes several very good points in his discussion of the actual topic — gun violence. Ms. Leary and her cohorts would do well to stop shooting up with their partisan syringes for a time and think about practical means to prevent such violence instead…

Gentlemen, Jokes are not appropriate when it comes to the gun violence plaguing Chicago.

What would you know about gun violence in Chicago, or about pretty much anything else, you witless drone?
Stick to the suburban playgrounds.

Mr. Hickey,
I know enough to know that it takes a special kind of amorality to exploit the murders of children and entire families in order to promote one’s opposition to a political candidate.
And I know enough to know that Ms. Leary, Mr. Brown and (apparently) even yourself and Mr. Ruberry find such exploitation not only acceptable but defendable.
Have any other ad hominems? Or, do you want to actually try and explain what’s going through your head?
PS: Ms. Leary and Mr. Ruberry are both also from the suburbs, and Mr. Brown (the violence fetishist who did this ad, among other similar exploitations) runs a conservative political group called “Excellentia” which is based in Washington state… Why are you ok with these people from other “playgrounds” commenting on gun violence taking the lives of Chicagoans?

Look simpleton ; dropping ‘ad hominem’ ad constantly talking about ‘logic’ and ’solipcisms’ mark you well. You are shallow, ill-prepared dope. Some one did you the great disservice of telling you that you had something to say - that person was no friend. You can not help yourself, I knwo, but that does not give you public liceense to play at being Illinois Kos. You do it very badly by the way and never give evidence of original thought or conviction. This goofy site is a cut and paste job. That is what you do - you can not help yourself.
Getting a tune-up after making snotty crack about a lady, generally makes an adult sit-up and take stock of himself - but that is beyond your scope, depth, and ability.
You will make another flabby response with your usually whiny, fatuous, and dull skills.

I’m supposed to not respond when someone (who has offered no evidence for his complaints) attacks me?
Welcome to the real world, where folks stand up for what they believe in.
I believe Floyd Brown is a moral-less partisan willing to exploit any situation he canin his attempts to tarnish and smear those whom he considers his opponents (though he seems to prefer trying to connect his opponents to themes of violence).
I also believe folks such as Ms. Leary and her merry band of blowhards — yourself apparently included by choice — are just as lacking in principle for promoting and defending such acrid rhetoric.
And, again, you’ve failed to explain why you’re defending your comrades’ hyper-amorality let alone where your own values lie.
PS: If you want a version of Illinois Kos head over to Prairie State Blue. That site is much more akin to Daily Kos in structure than this.

Are you kidding me Rob? Your calling these people “blood dancers” when you buddy Dan “the ban” Kotowski and his pals at the ICHV and Brady campaign are the biggest “dancers” of them all. I guess it’s ok though because they swing left, and we all know that the Democrats loooove gun control.
Even your boy Obama rolled out the same old nonsense, we need more “common sense” gun laws. coming from a guy that sat on the board of directors of the joyce foundation, i understand why he would suggest the same tired anti-gun ideas (lets remember that hand guns and assault weapons are already banned and chicago has some of the stricktest gun laws in the country). It was reported last week that 97% of the shooters in chicago had extensive crimial records and were forbidden to own weapons anyway.
Last week Chicago had a crazy idea……..they proposed that the police actually PATROL the infested areas of chicago where all the gun violence is happening, instead of just showing up after the people are killed to clean up the scene. Guess what happend Rob? there were only 9 people killed instead of 36 like last weekend.
I think what Ms. Leary is trying to say about Obama is true, we are not locking these punks up and Obama is guilty of doing nothing to try and stop this. Three weeks ago a guy killed a kid with a baseball bat, and the thug that was charged with murder was 22 years old and had been arrested 17 times, including uuw and attempted murder. Why was this punk walking the streets? How about the guy last week that killed his girlfriend then himself…..he was out on parole for MURDER! How does someone get parole for killing another person? we need the death penalty, but Obama doesn’t want it.
Last week a Dupage county judge sentenced a guy that carjacked a lady (he didn’t hurt her just took the car) to 11 years in prison. thats what happens in my county when you break the law, if this would have happend in cook co. or chicago the criminal would have got a slap on the wrist and been out on the streets commiting more crimes.

Dave,
Your leaps in logic are astounding. Obama voted against a bill that would extend the death penalty (a punishment which, as I noted, has been shown to not deter crime). He has not done “nothing to try and stop this” — heck, you and Leary, et al, are acting as if Obama is Mayor and Governor all rolled into one. He’s now a US Senator.
For your analogy about carjacking to be apt, you’ll need to point to what you consider a pattern — not just one or two — of light sentences for car jackers in Cook County (and/or Chicago). Anyone can point to a single instance of some thing and make wild, salacious claims, just as Floyd Brown did with his pathetic ad.
I’ve already discussed similar rhetoric about Sen. Kotowski so you can do a search to find my reply on that change of subject.

John,
Clearly the only disturbed folks here are the ones who have yet to explain themselves, including yourself and your confederates.

Leary has nothing better to do than get all worked up about things and write blog entries that do nothing more than refer to conjecture and innuendo. Sad thing is that I’ll wager that she’s convinced that she’s doing the world some sort of public service.
