Perhaps Taylor Marsh’s hair product is interfering with her ability to reason. This is the problem with party purists — they come up with ridiculously over-the-top crap like Chinese People Eat Babies (Jill Stanek) or Barack Obama is a Progressive Cannibal (Taylor Marsh).
Ms. Marsh ought to stop to consider that some people appreciate the fact that Sen. Obama realizes no one person or even one particular party has all the answer[s].
She laments:
Mr. Obama’s ability to cannibalize the very essence of progressive policy by going to the right of our Democratic party foundation knows no bounds. From a DailyKos diary in 2005:
Too often, the “centrist” label seems to mean compromise for compromise sake, whereas on issues like health care, energy, education and tackling poverty, I don’t think Democrats have been bold enough. But I do think that being bold involves more than just putting more money into existing programs and will instead require us to admit that some existing programs and policies don’t work very well. And further, it will require us to innovate and experiment with whatever ideas hold promise (including market- or faith-based ideas that originate from Republicans).
“Market-based ideas,” hmmm, wonder what Mr. Obama is talking about? It’s obvious. It’s also a warning. Putting Social Security on the table, especially after progressives won that battle during the Bush era, is something no Democrat should swallow. It goes beyond not being an ideologue. It reveals that Obama doesn’t care at all about anything Democratic, including one of the most important aspects of what makes us Democrats, Social Security.
Hmmm, indeed.
If Ms. Marsh had actually been following his career (and in particular his presidential and “pre-”presidential interviews) she’d know that Senator Obama has said market-based Social Security alterations should be off the table. Social Security and Privatization are separate things because “privatized” Social Security is no longer Social Security as we know it (it cannot be given how Social Security actually works). It’s more like a 401k or IRA, already existing “market-based” tools, and Sen. Obama recognizes that.
Her transparently partisan anti-Obama whining is not well-served by making assumptions which are demonstrably false.
What’s next? Did he write a 2nd grade term paper about global warming and cow farts?
(h/t to Mark Warner is God’s hilarious Barack Obama will eat your children, updated with photographic proof.)

You really think they are going to be able to save SS?
There is no money left. All that is there, is IOU’s.
Just a FYI in case you didnt know Rob.

I think Social Security can be salvaged, but not in its current form.
But, I also don’t think one of the best-working programs in the history of our country needs to be destroyed just because the Baby Boomers are retiring, either.
The current situation is what we get after years of conservative-style “it’s your money” attitude in Washington. Ha!

Well,
with them adding illegals/mexican nationals to the roll, what else can you expect?
LBJ used SS funds to fight Nam. The money “in” there is gone. It was spent on wars, and entitlements a long time ago.
Boomers are going to be draining it quicker, if this credit crisis doesnt do it before then.

I saw this one on progressives. There is still room in tent for you. We will be out on Rand and Palatine on Saturday 12.29.07 doing sign waves for Ron. Starting at 11am.
Every freedom loving American is welcomed. You tired of deficits, you tired of endless wars, then come on down to the rally of peace.

Carl,
Your bullshit is pretty tiresome.
…Please refer to actual cases of illegal immigrants being given Social Security benefits.
Got links to that instead of your neo-Nazi supported presidential candidate?
Will you be waving swastika flags supporting Dr. Paul’s overt racism on Saturday also? The more I learn about Dr. Paul the less appealing he is.

you must of had a bad Christmas or something. Your pullin out Nazis now for rebuttals. Thats friggin Sad dude.
And that Letter was debunked awhile ago. I forget when, but he never did write that.
So what else you going to pull out to keep those chains on you ROB? You want more war? More entitlements? You want to leave a broke country to your kids?

Carl
Plus you have to pull this source from a website that offers Free Ann Coluter Emails!!1
Come on. You stoop so low to use neo-con sites for rebuttles? Can you even look at yourself in the mirror anymore? Are you becoming what you hate so much?
But aint wanting government to solve issues the same as progessives like yourself, and neo-cons like this site?
You want to use force to committ change on society.
I bet you have a violent streak in ya. I can see it more clear now.

As usual, you are over the top. So what is some nut sends $500 in to Ron Paul. Doesn’t sound like he’s going to get any access for it.
What I want to know is why do Chinese nationals keep backing Clintons with tens of thousands? What access do they think they are buying?

Carl, Clearly the truth about the candidate you’ve fallen in love with hurts, eh?
1. The letter was not “debunked”. Dr. Paul tried to spin the blame onto a ghostwriter (here’s a link to the weak spin)… but it went out under his banner and with his name. It would be as if the “C-Rock Newsletter” had been published with your knowledge and blessing but you later disavowed all knowledge of it.
If that’s the case, I question Dr. Paul’s mind. Has he ever bothered to actually state his direct opposition to the statements, rather than try to come up with excuses and weak attempts to explain them away?
2. I used The New York Sun as a source. Are you admitting the media isn’t actually “liberal”? There are a great many other citations available — ranging from conservative to liberal media, and including several “corporate/non-partisan” media including the Houston Chronicle (which was the original source for the Sun’s passage as it is — the direct Chronicle article is no longer online).
3. Even if you consider the New York Sun to be “neo-con”, what does that matter? The facts are the facts — the newsletter went out under Dr. Paul’s name and he was instrumental in its publication.
4. Gmail has “free Anne Coulter newsletter” ads on it. It’s called web advertising. Those things pop up all over the place — even on the Sun-Times and Tribune. Zzzzz….
5. The editor’s note on the New York Times magazine blog (not the dead-tree NYT daily paper) was about something else, not this letter distributed under Dr. Paul’s name and with his advanced consent. Besides, whether or not “Stormfront” has given money to Dr. Paul is besides the point. Their chief has indeed donated to the candidate, and their website has listed a direct donation link for quite some time. That direct effort by Neo-Nazis to raise money for Dr. Paul and their many words of endorsement for him says quite a bit, no?
–
Dave, See above.
I would suggest that supporting someone who is supported by neo-Nazis and whose past comments and newsletters have skirted the line (to put it politely) of racism but have never been directly disavowed by that candidate says much more about people who would knowingly continue supporting the guy despite all that.
His comments are what are over the top. Pointing them out is not.
As for the Clintons, they are also supported by many other immigrants of other nationalities, as are many other candidates. If you don’t think the Bushes weren’t supported by Saudis I’ve got a bridge to sell ya, etc.
More importantly, what do the Clintons have to do with Dr. Paul’s propensity toward racism and the like (if only to serve as a bizarre wait-look-over-here distraction)?

Immigrants? I’m not talking about immigrants supporting Clinton. I’m talking about citizens of China supporting Clinton.

The citizens of India also support her… or did you suddenly forget about the “Senator from Punjab” flap?
Again, what does this have to do with either Taylor Marsh’s rabid and myopic anti-Obamism for anti-Obamism’s sake or C-Rock’s devotion to a fellow with apparent racist leanings? (And I remind you it was C-Rock who brought up Dr. Paul on a thread about Sen. Obama.)

Maybe if you say it enough Rob, it will stick.
Call me a racist all you want.
I know what the street is saying in Arl Hts. Ron is popular.
Look at those faces rob. Hear the honks on the road. Folks are tired of inflation, they are tired of war. They want hard money. Money you wont defend in all of your long rants.
So I share the future with you. Please enjoy. I hope you allow this to stay on yoru board. But you like to censor your fellow neighbors.

this was yesterday on 12.29.07 on rand and Palatine, over in Arl Hts.
We came in peace, and left in peace. No one there is a “kook”, or a loner. I did not see any Nazi’s Rob.
Just just do not believe more government is the answer. We are tired of war also.
So come join us next week. I call on all folks who are against the war, to come join us.
We will be out at 1.5.08 @ Rand and Palatine, between 11-2pm.

Now you’re just putting words in my mouth Carl. When did I call you a racist? I said you’re supporting someone who apparently has racist tendencies. Racist organizations and “leaders” in this country obviously see that in him, even if you don’t.
I encourage you to keep supporting whomever you like — just do so with open eyes and ears about Dr. Paul’s past. There’s more than one way to be against war, and you don’t have to be “fleet-footed” to know that.

C-rock, Your original post took it several steps further — admit that yourself.
In fact, if you stop to think for just a moment, you ought to be able to figure out why this most recent post was approved while the earlier one was not (that is, if you’re not so blinded by partisan hatred that your ability to think rationally has been impaired).

No rob,
you have to admit, I just turned your question around back at you.
And you had to delete it. Which is fine. Your just a neo-con in a progressives clothing.
Happy New Year.

No Carl. You were peddling malicious rumors about a presidential candidate … whether for your own jollies or something else I can’t say, which is why it was deleted.

No,
your the one that keeps on calling Ron a “nazi”, not I.
I just turned it around, and you couldnt handle it. Its ok man. Some of us can handle it, others cannot.

When did I call him a “nazi”?
I said he’s supported by neo-Nazis (which is true) and has had some rather racist material published in his name (also true), material which he neither recanted nor even bothered to denounce (also true).
